Collection: Side Tables

A side table earns its place when the cup, book or laptop you reach for has somewhere natural to land. Side Tables at Office Goods Australia spans C-shaped sofa tables, small round coffee tables, bedside cabinets, nesting sets and mobile or folding surfaces. Make a seat more useful without adding a full desk, bring a temporary worktop closer to the sofa or keep the evening essentials beside the bed. The variety lets you choose by how the table meets the chair, not just by the finish on its top.

Tuck a surface beside the seat

C-shaped and U-shaped tables reach toward a sofa or armchair while keeping much of their base out of the walking area. Compact round and square end tables offer a freestanding place for a cup or lamp. Low coffee tables sit differently in front of a seating group, and nesting designs can spread out when company arrives. Consider whether you need the top alongside, over or in front of a seat; that single choice changes how easily you can use the table.

Let the table move with the room

Wheeled side tables and tea trolleys can travel between a sofa, bed and break area. Folding designs store away when the floor is needed for something else, while adjustable-height and flip-top formats adapt a surface to different tasks. A wall-mounted folding table solves yet another space problem by using the wall when the top is not in use. These pieces suit rooms where one area has to do more than one job during the day.

Keep the little things close

Drawers, shelves, magazine pockets, baskets and hidden compartments offer different ways to keep small items from spreading across the top. A bamboo tray table or sofa-arm tray serves the opposite preference: a simple, immediately accessible surface without a larger cabinet underneath. Choose the amount of storage that matches what you actually keep beside the seat, then leave enough free tabletop for the thing you will set down next.
