Collection: Bookcases

The books you return to and the objects you like seeing deserve more than an untidy stack. Bookcases at Office Goods Australia offers floor-standing shelves, cabinets, corner units and compact desktop book storage for rooms of different sizes. Make a wall of books easier to browse, turn an unused corner into a reading spot, or bring reference material closer to the desk. With open, enclosed and movable designs in the range, you can choose how much to show and how much to put away.

Give a wall or corner a purpose

Tall multi-tier bookcases use vertical space for books, folders and display pieces. Open shelves make a collection visible at a glance, while cabinet doors, drawers or fabric covers offer a place for the items you would rather keep out of sight. Narrow corner units and tree-shaped shelves work differently from a wide straight bookcase: they bring books into smaller footprints or unused edges of a room. A rotating floor stand is another way to reach several sides of a collection without a long run of shelving.

Keep favourite books near the work

Desktop bamboo and wooden shelves can hold books, files and small work items beside a monitor or reading area. Extendable and drawer-equipped options let the same surface hold both visible titles and the smaller pieces that tend to drift across a desk. A wheeled book rack or mobile storage unit is useful when material needs to move between a working table and a quieter corner. Think about how often you reach for a book, not only how many you own, when choosing where the shelf should live.

Let the collection grow with the room

A child's wheeled bookcase keeps picture books at a different height from a tall home-office shelf; a larger grid bookcase can mix reference files and decorative objects. Bamboo, wood-look and steel-frame designs also set different visual rhythms. Start with the space available, the height of the books and the balance of display versus concealed storage you want. The right case makes the room easier to live and work in while leaving room for the next title.
